We are more than pleased to introduce ourselves as a Company which was established by Joe Borg in 1975, importing Adhesives, Sealants and Glues but became a well, renowned Waterproofing Company following the last 20 years of experience in this trade, whereas, no need telling, many difficult problems were encountered and solved during different, sometimes awkward, projects.

In the year 2000 we were called by SKANSKA MALTA JV , who were awarded to design and build a new large hospital, MATER DEI , to do Waterproofing to vertical walls.  After one year we were awarded one of their largest contracts, which consisted in the insulation, concrete screed to falls and waterproofing of all roofs and terraces with stainless drains from ACO. The majority of the waterproofing is on top, except that of terraces. Total area amounted to more than 45,000 sq'm, whereas Aluminum Facing Membrane was used to reduce heat and keep rain water clean while running to large reservoirs. Thousands of linear meters of expansion/seismic joints, vertical and horizontal, were also done. Our Company had to coordinate work with several contractors, amongst whom, INSO S.P.A - who installed the medical equipment.

" Mater Dei Hospital ”, was inaugurated on 29th June 2007. 

VALLETTA WATERFRONT: These 400-year-old warehouses were another 4,000 sq'm waterproofing job for our company. These warehouses, which were built during the reign of Grand Master Emanuel Pinto, were restored and turned to beautiful shops and restaurants in the last three years. They are recently watched over, by beautiful cruise liners which berth just in front of them.

We are very pleased to state that we stock various types, thicknesses and colours of membranes; including self adhesive membrane and hydro-plastic membrane for fast drainage, together with complimenting accessories. These being: air ventilators, 12 different sizes of rubber sleeves, primers and paints specifically manufactured for bituminous products. Even though stainless drains from ACO are not kept in stock, these could be in our warehouse whenever needed. 

We are pleased to mention that a few years ago liquid membrane from DRIZORO has also been added to our range, although Maltese people are conservative and most of whom still prefer bituminous reinforced membrane.

This confirms that THREE EIGHT NINE LTD is one of the leading roofing contractors in Malta, which includes the installation of any needed waterproofing, thermal and acoustic insulation, rainwater outlets, tiles and concrete screed to falls. All works are covered by a guarantee .

In 2001, our company, which is also involved in the construction of Sports Systems has done the largest sport facility on the Island  - an 11-a-side 2-Star FIFA approved football ground, with 55mm Soccer Pro synthetic Grass filled with silica sand and EPDM rubber, over a hot asphalt layer and a 17mm in-situ shockpad.  Before commencing all this, the ground had to be leveled and rolled to a height of 1.5m . This Pitch was completed with 6 lane, IAAF approved athletics track, surrounded with a galvanized fence and floodlit with 6 x 20 m poles with 6 floodlights x 2000w each.  We enhanced the entrance of the Gym with a large verandah, which leads to the cafeteria. All this and more belongs to ST ALOYSIUS' COLLEGE Malta.  Another look to the internet will give you a slight idea (Others-Sports Facilities). We can do any Sport facility. For domestic homes we supply / lay certain areas with decorative synthetic turf.

Apart from waterproofing, we have done many jobs referring to seismic joints with PU Sealant or metal profiles imported from BUCHBERGER GmbH  in Germany. These jobs were in Hotels, Supermarkets and other buildings.
